Rachel Halbasch is an experienced civil litigator with over two decades of legal experience, primarily on the defense side. She has represented design professionals, corporations, financial institutions, and insurance brokers in a wide range of litigation matters, including construction, real estate, personal injury, professional liability, and mortgage banking disputes.
Rachel began her legal career at Murtaugh, Meyer, Nelson & Treglia LLP, where she handled cases from pre-litigation through trial, gaining extensive experience in depositions, mediations, and motion practice. She also worked on trademark registration, trusts and estates, and business transactions, while leading the firm’s charitable initiatives and pro bono efforts.
In 2007, Rachel joined Lewis Brisbois Bisgaard & Smith LLP as an associate in the Professional Liability Group. There, she focused on defending real estate and insurance brokers, professional malpractice claims, and business litigation matters. She was the primary associate on multiple cases, managing litigation from inception through trial preparation. Rachel has drafted and argued numerous motions, including demurrers, motions to strike, discovery motions, and motions for summary judgment. She also participated in two trials in Los Angeles.
Rachel expanded her practice at Wolfe & Wyman LLP, where she represented national financial institutions and loan servicing companies in real property disputes, foreclosure actions, and title litigation. She also handled lender liability defense, including matters related to loan origination, wrongful foreclosure, and unfair debt collection claims.
